Sure, I understand. Crows often are used for comic effect and generally considered pests. Ravens--on the other hand--are very portentous; hence their poetic and symbolic uses. "Quoth the crow/ I don't know." Nah, I don't think so. ;-)Thanks again. Good comments.

Hi George-

I'm not suggesting that you change the
title, it's just an interesting topic for me.
"The Raven" which, along with Blake's
"The Tiger" have to be among the most
widely read poems in any language. I'm
no expert but, I'll bet ravens are as often,
or even more often used symbolically in
theology, mythology, and mysticism than
are crows. (I did a quick search.)

I love the silhouetted crow and the croos detail with somber lighting, very prety.

Thanks, Sammy. I was not too careful. My principal excuse is that "crow" works better for the title. ;-) And--I was never really sure of the distinction between the two. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll try to do better. --g

Nice catch.
It's more likely a raven
making Larry's allusion
even more apropos.

Ravens have a fan shaped tails,
while crows have squared off
wedge shaped tails.

g00gle this phrase ..

[The Carrion Crow has all black plumage and is considerably smaller than the Raven Corvus corax.]

or search keywords [corvus corax corone cornix]

I did brighten it up a bit in PS, Paul. That--and cropping--is about it.

There is an element of spookyness about it, must be the crow. Hitchcock has a lot to answer for!
Was it fill in flash or clever PS work?
