Spectacular view, Keseph! I am impressed with the way that you stayed on the "underexposed" side here.... I prefer the richness of the colors, and the reality of the lighting. This is really awesome! ..>Brad

I tried some night shots, but included the moon (though certainly no landscape like this around here!) and yours is definitely better! I don't mind the noise at all in this image. I think without it (and stars!!) you'd have a hard time believing it was a night shot!
Outstanding image, Keseph!

Sammy - digital noise - is apparently similar to grain in high speed film, and is more of a problem with some digital cameras than others. It shows up in crops and enlargements more, I think.
Anyhow that's my understanding of it...

A little grainy, but still an awesome shot. I've been wanting to do moonlight shots like this.

Nice one Kes!
I don't know what noise looks like. Would someone point it out/describe it?

Barry - Thanks for your comment! I've got a camera or two in mind as an upgrade, but currently have a lot of irons in the fire...
...someday though...

Has the surreal feeling that you only get with long exposure night shots. It's a shame the little Sony produces so much noise at this length of exposure.

Thanks Linda! The original, 3+meg, was a little too grainy at full size. It also shows the star (earth) movement, which always amazes me.

Denitsa,
I don't have Neat Image, but I agree something like that would help. Thanks!

Mrinmoy - No, unfortunately the moon does not come into this view. Thanks for your comment...I'll try to line up the moon sometime.

f2.8, ISO 400...just trying to get enough light to work with and see a bit to compose the shot..tried one at f4.0 and it looked too dark on the camera's screen. Not much range in the Sony's "manual" setting.

Excellent image! I would like to see the moon in between the two mountains. Does it ever come to that position? If so, that would be another great image.

Well done! I like it, the light resembles more the light of a setting sun, but there are stars - great! Did you try to fight the noise with some noise cleaning program, such as Neat Image for instance? I like the composition and the reflections too. A very good picture! Best regards, Denitsa
