About
this is a shot froma bridge over a marvelous gorge in Nidderdale called "How Stean Gorge"
It's very close to the route we did on the last UF meet in Yorks, but it's pretty slippy and dangerous to carry cameras into prime photo spots, so thought with the possibility of Steve slipping and breaking his neck, we'd give it a miss.
It's about 30-50 feet deep and has some wonderful water carvings. The dark tree cover makes a tripod essential (sorry Steve) but also stops the rocks ever getting properly dry.
Very little PS work at all, just that Velvia thing that Alastair found.
Not abandonded commenting on your shots just got 1000 photos of my own to sift through from last week, a new job to contemplate, a mountain of washing and 2 very hungry cats.....
Fantastic image Ade. Reminds me of being in Canada although there you can multiply the height by a factor of 5 and the colour of the water is more attractive. Hope you're getting fit for the weekend. Den
That is fantastic Ade I love the wonderful textures and really rich and golden tones. [SO glad hou didn't take me there :) ] Hope you had a great weekend and your first day went well. Don't worry about comments - but do look at the Birthday Card I put up for Steve, think it will make you smile Margaret

That is certainly an interesting looking place to explore with a camer and tripod Ade... those formations that have been carved by the water are really amazing looking. That Velia thingy has done wonders to the colours here Ade - really vivid and bright!
Super shot Mate... looking forward to the weekend I can tell you!
