That's an amzing image.....you managed to keep the dark without it being a dark image....wonderfully lighted by the light coming through the windows + the candles. You seldom see shots like this churches with majestic stain-glassed windows.

Thanks, Thilo. The real challenge is the highly contrasting light levels. The exposure was geared to preventing the highlights in the glass from being blown out. And, the tone of the photo does give a good sense of what the space looks like. I have a few exposures of single glass panels where the contrast was not as great, and the look of the image is less severe. I seem to be attracted to these high contrast situations, and I'm working on strategies to deal with them. Thanks again . . . --g

Hi George,

the underexposed shot turned out really nice. it would be great to have some back lighting, but on the other hand, your version is very "quiet" ;-)

best wishes,
Thilo

Thanks, Linda. My wife and I have the opportunity to visit for a couple of weeks every year in the spring. I never get tired of going there. We have always found Paris--in spite of "conventional wisdom"--to be one of the most accessible and hospitable big cities we have ever visited. And we don't speak French! Go figure . . . --g
