About It's probably easy for anybody who looks at my images often to see that I have an obsession with shooting fireworks. This is a compilation of shots from Friday night at a 4th of July weekend celebration about a mile from my home.

After several fireworks shows and mixed luck, this shoot turned out better than any other I've tried. I shot at a wide angle 18mm, and set the camera to shutter priority. I set the shutter speed at 2 seconds and then listened to the launch and timed the shutter release. It worked like a charm!!!

This shot is nicely done. I like that it combines a few different colors and gives a good impression of the show. Nice work.

Obsession or not, I think you shot some great fireworks pictures Mark. This is my favorite of the group. I like the variety of colors and the crispness of the explosions. Very nice.

Wonderful fireworks Photograph Mark, Great Colors and Clarity. Very well presented. I have had little to no luck with fireworks so I stick with a more stable work...

Thanks for sharing, and thanks for the wonderful comments on my Photos...
GOD Bless...
Your friend, Peter Daniel

Hi Mark, This is a fun obsession which yielded beautiful results. Well done composition with a classy patriotic frame. I don't know if you can see it on your monitor but because of differences between fireworks the sky was lit up slightly differently in each shot. That caused a mosaic effect and I thought it'd be a good idea to make the background all black to give the illusion they went off at the same time. Here's my take, a minor update on your hard work. ps Thanks for your kind comment on my picture. :-)

Thanks for the comment, Don. Since I had the camera set to Shutter Priority, the camera determined the F-Stop. I checked each image in this compilation and each was different from the rest.

You make it sound easy. I tried some fireworks shots the other night and well--I got some wierd looking stuff. This is wonderful.

This is a great compilation, Mark. Each of the shots is very good in it's own right and the four together make a wonderful presentation. You really have the fireworks exposures down now. Very nicely done! Larry

Thanks for your comments to me, as well!

Thanks, Paul. The event was at Memorial Park in midtown. There was a concert with Three Dog Night and The Doobie Brothers that opened it followed by the fireworks.

Thanks for the coment, Jurgen. I had my ISO set at 200. I really think the key was using a wider angle. That kept the explosion from blowing out the image. I took about 80 shots that night and I have about 60 keepers.

Stunning results, Mark. Absolutely beautiful, perfect exposure and great colors.

And thanks a lot for the detailed description. If you don?t mind, I?ll try this out myself during tonight?s village fireworks. What ISO setting did you use?
