About Badlands National Park, South Dakota.

There is a place on the Dakota plains where the grass and the farm and ranch land come to an abrupt end. The prairie gives way to a huge expanse of prehistoric wonder. The Native American called it "Mako Sica", Bad Land.

No panoramic photograph can bring the same sense of awe that is felt when you stand at the rim and look out across a land that has been chiseled away by time to expose what the world once looked like so many, many millennia ago.

yes, I agree it is hard to capture the vastness of these beautiful canyons. Pano is the way to go many times.
hooray for film!

Thanks Fadel..

I was hoping for some Fadel like clouds that day. Too bad I was blessed with plain old blue skies...

I love the layered rocks here Pat. What a great shot - where are you at in this - across or in a plane?

well done, it actually reminded me of that same moment standing at that edge where a small very steep little trail leads down to the valley floor, no one i saw went down it.. i do however remember seeing buffalo in the praire which was really cool with the landscape of badlands in the forground, well done pano, great colors and composition
