This is a superb image Stephen. Its amazing just what surface tension can do for an image. I've got a similar one so I was drawn to your as soon as I saw it. And I love the detail in the leaf as well. Definitely deserves the award it got.

Thanks Abel, the black lines are shadows from a wooden veranda above the water, and are captured here just as they appear to the eye at the chosen angle . . . the surface tension of the water bends the light and shadow into the curved forms.

Fabulous! Can't think of anything else to say other than any additional information on how you took this would be very useful. Did you use a tripod? F-stop? Did you take it in B&W or convert it later? If you converted it, did you use Photoshop and Channels? Simply super!!

An amazing photo. The placement of the leaf in diagonal position accentuates its dynamism while opting for B&W is the best option since the contrast between the leaf and the darker color of water is very pronounced.
