A turkey roosting in the daytime? Wow Dave, he must of been sick or something. They are one tough bird to catch and you got him good. Usually if you get that close to them, they are outa there.

how'd he get up there! all the turkeys I've seen struggle to walk with all the steroids, hormones and interbreeding, let alone fly!
Maybe that's just the farmed ones over here?

Well spotted and nicely composed wth the tree's branches

Nice .......
Great quality and composition.
Finding a turkey in a tree is not a easy task.
Funny I was talking to a bud just two days ago and commented that it would be nice to get a turkey in a tree....and low and behold here's your turkey.
Well Done.

Great shot Dave, Hard to get shots of this bird as they are skitish as can be !! To hunt them you need blinds and scent blocker, the works. I have never seen one this close !
Are you sure your last name isn't Crockett?

Great capture Dave, I wonder how many other people were looking at this bird through lenses - particularly the types with cross hairs in !

I hope he managed to return to his flock and not on a dinner plate.

Best wishes,
Steve

Looks like you were able to get pretty close. They are very wary birds and hard to get close to most of the time. Nice capture. Don.
