I can't understand why it is Best In Project because I don't think it's going to be Peace & Tranquility when those very dark clouds will come over them...
Besides that it is a nice shot but I don't get the light part on the tree..

yes, it does seem strange. the wet and dry can be one explanation, but there definitely was some light from the behind that was reaching only upto those parts. intriguing indeed.. :)

Dear Avi, thanks for your kind words re my pic.... I'm not 100% sure why...all I can think is there were trees and structures behind me reflecting some light....and that the difference in the light on the sand was because the bright section was dry and the rest of the sand was still wet and thus not reflecting as much....but this is just a guess... thanks

It is strange how there seems to be light on a small patch on the sand and part of the tree. I don't know whether it is because of some processing lapse or something else. Apart from that this is a beautiful picture, with a moody seaside sunset and the inclusion of human figures to make it complete. Congrats on a great job and well deserved awards.
