Very beautiful shot. Seems early morning-ish. One thing I haven't yet had an opportunity to work with is fog. Seems like around here it only rolls in really early or really late.

Well, you were apparently steady enough to get this one. great movement with the rails curving through the image and the sempahore standing at attention mid-frame right. nice contrast as well.

Thanks Steven! I wanted to get on the tracks for this photo, but the best I could do was hang over the banister - lol. I'm glad others saw what I was seeing here-the lines, curves, geometry, following into the fog.

now this one is excellent . great choice with the b and w tones. What really makes this for me are the tracks and the way they wind and lead us to the fog in the background and the signs at various places. One of if not your best I have seen as far as composition and perspective.

There is also a bit of history related to this part of the tracks. It is located near the depot, which was a part of the Battle of Collierville in the Civil War. General Sherman came through on the train here in 1863 and the Confederates captured Sherman's horse "Dolly" but lost the battle. (All this is from a local history book.)
I took a couple photos of an old cannon that are right near these tracks - I will post those later.
