About I'm learning to use the Helios lens, which at 58mm is a longer focal length than I normally use, to select limited areas of the scene in front of me. Here it was the contrast between the tree trunk and the iron bars leaning against it. I used the Power Retouche plugins to render the B&W like Tri-X with a green filter. This is a bit outside the box for me. What do you think?

Hi Roger, yes f5.6 is quite shallow dof on this lens by ther look of it, but I don't mind that.
I think the tones are really well distributed and I do like your composition, with the two diagonals created by the pipes.

Good work

Keith

Thanks, Rob. I'll remember to look out for that. It is quite difficult to focus my 28mm lens in my SLR--rangefinders are the tool of preference for wide angles and I am much happier with them anyway. So it could be just human error.

It appears to me as if the lens is front focussing. The bars in the rear are less sharp. So the selctive DOF is more upfront. If this helps you.

Thanks for the feedback about the scanner. Rob
