Beautiful image of these two 'beauties'!!
Don't you just LOVE the old cameras? Especially when they are functional!! I have a few oldies also and wouldn't part with them!

Good job on this one,
Lori :)

Well composed in B&W, Dave. I had a canon EOS 1 with a 35-350 mm lens with me in Indonesia. It was heavy as hell, especially the lens, but worth it and I still have one of the other contraptions in your photo, but not as well preserved and definitely as well captured as yours.
Thank you for your kind words about my "Sunset with champagne 2", my "Fantasy with dolls" and my "Faces." about the latter I have to add that they were no friends but people I picked up and took photos of at random in a fair.
Best regards,
Rafi

Great shot Dave!! The flash i believe years ago when I first started, had one like it. Had an adapter so could use smaller base flash bulbs, which also took up less pocket space...one for new ones..other side for used ones...those were the days. Had a Century Graflex, roll film for several years until I went to Canon A-E 1. What a pity I parted with any of it.:-((

Hi Dave,

Excellent photograph!! The Crown looks like it's in impeccable shape! I really like the way you've set this shot up with the black textured background. And the difficulty with all the chrome and reflective surfaces didn't pose a problem for you at all. It's classic! Great work Dave.

progress helps in many ways - but that vintage camera really looks the part - just reminds me of all those pre-war movies!

Nothing like an old press camera to get people's attention. I wonder if you can still buy flash bulbs anywhere. Beautiful shot.

Larry Quigley Larry Quigley   {K:12887} 2/17/2005
Very good composition and exposure, Dave. The Crown graphic took great black & white pictures. One at time! It was not only hauling the big beast but feeding it the sheet film that was a challenge! We forget how great it is to have auto exposure and focus and the ability to take several hundred exposures in an afternoon. Great picture! Larry

I like it Dave.
How many of us give credit to those cameras he learned photography by using them ?
May be you can add your S5000 digital camera with them and give it an interesting title like "generations", "evolution" or something like that.
Excellent abstract my friend, bravo,
Khaled.

Certainly two great cameras Dave, I owned the A1 myself and traded up to the T90 after that.

Lovely photograph and fabulous tones - always very difficult to get good blacks and silver with digital but you have made this look easy !!

Best wishes,
Steve

Very beautiful and one that only the B/W can capture with its very crisp tones and beautiful contrasts. I still feel guilty about my other camera, but it is so hard to go back once you have a digital. Alison

Big Ben & Little Len Eh Dave. I bet that Graphic is worth a few bob (old English shilling and saying). My model engineering mind says I'd love to inspect the build quality of it. Far superior to anything nowadays surely.
