Thank you so much for your kind comments Lori. The mist was what first attracted me to the scene(see reply to Judi). When I returned with camera in hand the sky was beautiful.
The part I left out was that I had just put the lens back together after tearing it apart to repair a broken post on one of the leaves of the iris. Here's what the lens looked like the day before this shot. Kurt

Thanks Judi. I was on my way home that morning and didn't have a camera with me but when I saw that scene I knew I had to get a shot or two. I raced home, grabbed the old camera and drove back, nearly getting my car stuck in the snow! But I think it was worth it. Kurt

HI Kurt,
WOW.......you did VERY WELL with that 20+year old camera and lens! I REALLY like this image, it's just full of drama. Good lines, composition the mist off the water is awesome!
And the sky on FIRE!!
