About Saw this hill with what look like scots pines on top. I was on the way to a meeting in Birmingham, but just had to pull over and get a few frames of this. The clouds and light really worked well for me too.

A beautiful sensuous landscape, Keith. The tonal range is very fine, as is the wonderful composition.
Congratulations on your well-deserved award.

First Rate Image Kieth, I have a shot that I took last year - similar in concept - but no where as interesting as the light on this. My shot is of a group of trees with Canola Fields in teh foreground - I would love to revisit when the light was more dramatic but its 1000km from home and across 200km of water.

Yes, and such a natural for the panorama format. Well done! I comment so little these days, no time for photos or even civilities... but had to compliment you on this one, Keith. The swelling flank of that hill is quite, er, voluptuous.

This was most definitely worth pulling over for. Very lovely. How rich those greens are, and I really like the way the light is illuminating the slopes -- so 3 dimensional! So often I see vistas that would make terrific landscape photos while driving, but often the factors of traffic and speed prevent me from getting over in time to get the composition of the terrain that initially caught my eye and would have made the better shot. It looks like you got over at precisely the right moment! :) Antonia

truly magical light, especially in contrast to the "heavy" sky. I love the shades of green and the softness of the hill. I think the framing/composition is perfectly harmonic.
It is not dramatic, but that is exactly what makes it so soothing. Too often landscapes are overdramatic kind of screaming for attention. Here it is the opposite that makes it so appealing to me.

It's the rolling foreground accentuating the starkness of the trees that does it for me Keith. Superb composition.

Yup. This is gorgeous. The lighting on the gentil sloping hills, the dark sky; very magic indeed. I would've considered panning up a bit, to exclude the dark hedge from view, as it closes the composition, adding a less functional horizontal line. Minor personal preference; it's a very good shot.

Cheers,

Hugo
