Gotta love those surprises!! The backlight against the smoke DOES work quite nicely. I also like the perspective from which you shot it at! Unique image... not a subject that has been done a whole lot!

A great capture. From the brass flying to the popper in the lower right of the background, to the hearing protection being worn by both. It really tells the story of what's going in there. Not to mention it looks good too.

great shot (no pun intended). The shell casing is great! I love it when you capture something unintended and it really makes the photo something extra. desaturating could possibly work too.
