About Okay... it started out a bath tub shot gone terribly wrong. Didn't take into account the bounce flash and ended up badly underexposed. So the neg was pretty muddy, but I got to playing around with it under the enlarger and came up with this. So my question - is the final result a nice piece of dark room art, or just a lousy negative? My own judgement is suspect (on account of this being my son :-]) and I would appreciate any and all feedback on it.

Cheers, and Happy New Year,

Jon

Lovely job on that. I was trying to make the edges of the image fade into burnt out highlights and then into the white background. I think it required more of a deft hand with a dodging card then I yet have.

Jon, what a precious baby you have. Although you may have had some struggles with the photo, you have done an excellent job at recovering the shot. I think Melissa also did some great work. Congrats on all!

Nice job trying to salvage a shot gone wrong. Heaven knows we all get them! I think his image is lost in the large frame. Also his saturation level is such that he looks like a cut and paste. I hope you don't mind, but I tweaked your image a little to make it match it's lovely title. I gave it a opacity reduction to soften the outer lines, did a grain reduction, and cropped it in close to place the viewer's focus on the child's angelic face. Hope you don't mind me taking the liberty. Thanks for sharing,
Melissa
