This is a great buck shot - he's beautiful! If you are going to lighten up the background, it has to be done without touching the buck. Besides making his horns glow, it gives an unnatural color to his coat. It's pretty, just not realistic. But lightening the background does help him stand out more. (Reducing his camoflage - he wouldn't like that much!)

Jimmie...I like how the color of the background in your version better, but the detail in the antlers was lost in your corrections. They look like they are glowing hot.
