one of my favorites, Her hair flowing through the shot, the sand on her knees and her fingers playing in the sand!

I know what you are saying about the shadows. It is interesting, but it is really just the flat plane of her face relative to the angle of the light. Her arm is rounded and isn't as reflective. I didn't make any changes to the light in her face. :) T.

Hi Toni, I still don't get it. Her right arm (photo left) is lit by the sun (see the shadow that the single string of hair is casting) but still it is so much darker than the face. It is really interesting. Either way it is a great photo.

It's really interesting you noticed that, David, since I hadn't really focused on that aspect myself. It is not PS...just the angle of the light. It is close to sunset and she is looking up into the light of the sun. You can see the same light reflected off the front of her fingers where the angle is close to the same. Thanks for your remarks. :) T.

very nice shot. I wonder why is the face so much brighter than the rest of the skin? Did you do that in post to put more focus on the face?

Leora, thank you. She does happen to be one of my favorite subjects. Not related, but she does love to model for me. :)

Toni great shot here! So carefree -- movement of her hair just lovely. Young and fresh -- A classic child portrait. Well done my friend. Kind Regards, Cindi

Very natural, "childish" photo that bursts with love and tenderness! The real beauty is simple, so does this work! People can argue their throuts off what photography is about. To me the artificial effects in photography should be contained in minimal proportions just to emphasise some parts or aspects of the image. Other than that any heavy-duti artificial effects shift the photograph to a different domain. Regards - Armen

I think this is a fantastic, natural portrait of a beautiful child. I love the wind in the hair and the marks made in the sand. Lovely contrast, light, tones the whole works

So beautiful girl and so nicely captured in this wonderful light. Smooth and great tonality and I like how she a bit unconetrated plays with the sand. Excellent and 7+++ (I would like to make a visit so I can make some shots there on the beach....)
