About When at last i took the time to look into the heart of a flower, it opened up a whole new world...as if a window had been opened to let in the sun

(I didn?t write this I've read it somewhere and cant remember who said it)

comment critiques welcomed :)
no PS except for cropping re-sizing and the frame, the colors came out this way because I was experimenting with the cameras white balance

Thanks! I am using an old lens of my husbands that he had with is Nikon 6006 (I don't think they even make anymore -lol!) It's a Nikkor 35-80mm. I've only got to use it a few times since it arrived the other day (my kids and I are sick right now :( I've found that I really have to back up with that lens, I thought I would save money using his...I might have to buy another one. Thanks again, you have great photos here!

Dear Arwa,

I like the still a lot. great colors and patterns here. I'm not so sure about the heavy framing though... deletes some tension from the subject.

beautiful macro nature anyway.

take care my friend,
Thilo

Nope not yet im afraid of using RAW I have no idea why!!! Thank you for passing by
Ur in Riyadh? Once I was there to visit family and I stood on the cross road between king fahad road and al aroba street facing al mamlaka to take night pictures but I couldn?t stand there for more than 5 min! I still cant get they idea of why would the boys and men hit on a girl that?s not interested in them al ALL and bother everyone in the street!
I was so embarrassed and couldn?t take a decent image!!!!!
so maybe u could try it! it would look really nice with all the traffic and the lights ;)

Hi Arwa, very nice floral and good play with DOF.
I read on a previous comment from you that you felt you weren't learning anything anymore? Don't give up... we all go through these phases now and again. It's all about learning to see and appreciate. I enjoy looking at your work. Best wishes Neil

I've always wondered why u don?t post pictures of Dubai at night! Its one of the prettiest cities I've ever seen- and I've seen it about 4 years ago so bet it changed A LOT- is it because of the weather? For me I try but sometimes people complain and what to make sure they don?t get in the image if u know what I mean
Thank you so much amna :)

Stephen thank you thank you thank you soooooooooooo much!! (((hugs))
u helped me in realizing that what im feeling is normal and that this one well pass too ;)

No I don?t live near amna shes in the UAE and im in Saudi Arabia 2 completely different countries :P

I think sara M rawabi and amna did a course together im not sure

in the city im in theres one of the best clubs for photographers in Saudi but unfortunately they don?t do any courses for women!!!!! :|

i contacted them and they'll have the first one for women in few weeks
so that?s good news

plus non of my friends r interested in photography except one and shes busy studying for her masters and preparing for her wedding

I don?t want to sound so whiney (lol guess its to late) :P but wish I know someone to share their best places to take pictures at here in jeddah, and stuff like that

But I am learning and I have wonderful supportive friends here on UF so I cant complain
(even tho I've just written 1000 words lol)

thank you again stephen :)

Don't you dare stop ... WE ALL love them :-)

Do you have any photographers or a club locally or does Rawabi live close by ? I may be wrong but I think you both did a photography course together ? Although I have read so many comments I'm possibly wrong lol

I am meeting up with some local Usefilm'ers who live about 10miles away and are going out to yet another city to take some night time photos. This is something I have never really done before (except the previous session - same group) and I am learning lots on a subject I have never ever done before.

I can relate to what you say because even though I love floral and macro photos I sometimes feel as if I have done butterflies to death lol

For inspiration try going through all the Usefilm projects ... I found the incredible egg the toughest lol or maybe trying something different.

I received a comment from one Usefilmer who told me to do more landscape photos as he thought they were good ... funny, I think we are our own worst critics Arwa because I believed I was (and still am) not too good with landscapes lol

You have a fabulous eye for photography and I am sure I am not alone in saying that I have learned a lot from your techniques.

See you soon :-)

Steve (wow ... sorry for going on for ever !!!)

thank you Stephen!
I was about to delete it
but now I changed my mind!
stephen I don?t know whats happened, but I don?t like my pictures anymore! :(
I feel that I've stopped learning! I need to find an inspiration or try something new any suggestion?
Thanx for your comment!

BEAUTIFUL Arwa! This is so full of life. I love the color. When I examine closely it makes me want to be a little bug so that I can walk around it and explore...I love it!! Pretty words as well. I always look forward to seeing what you see...
Thank you for replying to my previous comment.
