About ?one of several on Chew reservoir this afternoon!

It's 10:37 pm here right now, but the good news is that the clocks 'go back' tonight which means we get an extra hour in bed! And don't I need it after getting up at 4:40am!!

Sleep well!

Enjoy the extra hour!

Hi Chris, I'm enjoying that extra hour too...:) This is an excellent shot; beautiful deep tones, and a great shot; the most difficult kind of racing, no wind....:) Outstanding capture!

Cheers,

Thanks, Patrick!
A big part of the 'secret' was the light at the time ~ sun up behind me and dark clouds and dark landscape behind the boats. When I saw that effect I simply helped it along a little by adding a kind of grey gradient fill from the top down.
Kind regards, Chris

Congratulations with the 500 !!!! ;-)
A great colourfull photo...so full of life and joy!!
When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was an arranged image made of plastic boats!!! :-)I think that the sun's reflection in the sails is making them look like plastic... as well as the clarity. The background is great here too...
and... ehhhhhhhhhhhh...you're fantastic also..
;-)
LOL
Think I have mentioned everything by now..haven't I???
;-)

Night..enjoy your 1 hour.. ;-)

Chris,

This is fantastic. Wonderful colours and composition. This takes me back as I used to fly fish on Chew Valley lake as a kid.
I love the way the yachts stand out so brilliantly from the dark background. There must be a trick to this! Care to share?

My best, Patrick

very colorful; like the way the background is almost invisible - I think it emphasizes the foreground in lovely way;
well done; like the contrast between colors;
