About While hiking through a nearby woods in early September, I came upon this old light bulb laying on the ground and I was struck by the incongruity of the image. Perhaps a reading light for the squirrels???

Hi Kurt, In your bio you say "Photography is, at its core, all about controlling light." You have certainly done it here. :) Well done my friend.

Neal, it is sad that someone would trash the environment like this, but it was on private property and some people use their wooded areas for dumping ground. : ( The surprising thing was that there was no other trash piled around, just this bulb. Best wishes, Kurt

Thanks for your comments Mark. When I saw the bulb on the ground I knew I just had to record it.
Best wishes. Kurt

And you didn't put this in the humor category? In ornfact it's a tragic trashing of the environment but your title makes it hilarious.

Gorgeous light and composition. Excellent background as well. Simply wonderful. I love the muted hues of the browns and greens. Great work!

Excellent concept. You have done well to grab this one. The light representing the need to hold onto the present and the nature suggesting the desire to go back to the past, to go back to what is safe and to what is known.
