Hi Ray, now that you mention it, I do agree with you about the extra foreground and sky. Maybe if a cropped it so that the geese would seem closer to the foreground (like Chris mentioned) and clipped a little bit of sky, it would work better :-).

Thanks for your comments! I'm not sure exactly where this was but it was some marshland area near Mountain View, California. This shot is of the park situated by the edge of the Marsh area.
I agree that the lighting was extremely bright. I think I'll have to start checking out if filters could help with situations like this :-).

well seen Long, I like the repetition of shapes and the similarity between the shapes of the birds and the shapes of the trees
however there is far too much sky and foreground, these areas are two thirds of the image that do not add to the image

Long Where is this? Looks very peaceful.
I like the arrangement of the geese on the photo, especially they way th fade into the background. It does look a little like some of the garden ornaments here -- but not quite as pink.
I do wish that the one goose was a little closer to the camera. I see that he appears to be walking away as if you may have wanted that as well. The light is very harsh here at this time of day. It looks as if the sun is either directly overhead or maybe even a little past zenith and you are shooting almost into it (by the shadows on the geese). The sky to tree line is very contrasty. I have trouble with this as well when the sun is on the wrong side.
