John, wow, I?ve been watching your work for a year now and I?m truly flattered you took the time to comment on this. I think you have the best ?big landscape? pictures on usefilm. About your critique on this, you are absolutely right about the foreground foliage, it?s a photographic typo, I?m surprised I or any one else didn?t catch that. I guess I wanted some foreground but if it?s going to just be a blur, then it?s just a distraction. I should have composed the shot differently. I?m still learning and believe me, your critique means a lot to me, it?s that sort useful criticism I need right now. You took the time to really look at the picture rather than just giving it a glance and a ?nice shot? comment and I thank you for that.

Howard, I tried that crop you suggested, and it does look like a crystal ball, pretty abstract, almost looks like a photoshop job with that tight crop and reflection. Thanks for the idea.

Now THAT is cool! The bright foliage reflection that is not sen directly adds a magical quality since we have to imagine how it came to be.

Honestly, I might have been tempted to rip out the foreground plant life at the bottom to unclutter the reflection. Okay, bend it over gently briefly and return it with tenderness. Still great. JB

I like the highlights in the reflection, framed by the bridge arch (and its reflection). Very nice photo. Do you have any others from Dow Gardens?

Alternative composition, just for fun: If this was cropped on all sides almost to the circle formed by the arch its reflection, it might look like a shot of a mirrored crystal ball, not a bridge.

What a distintive bridge and furtunate capture of the reflection.

An invitation to go through it to another world?
