This is a beautiful silhouette picture... the increasingly darker tones of the sky, countered by the one tone darkness of the tree creatres a stunning effect. Very good.

Beautiful tree Arwa.. I was thinking about the cropping thing, and was surprised when Rawabi suggested the same.. ;)
I love the dark blue sky..

Hi Regina
Thank you so much for taking the time and leaving this delightful uplifting comment! It really helped, just to make it clear I really appreciate good critique but it hurts when someone just say that they don?t like it with out giving any hints of how to improve the image! Why would I post an image for comments if I thought its perfect! I could just print it and hang it in my home!
Thank u again and thanx to all of u who cared enough to leave a comment
((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

Welcome back my dear...hope you had great time.
I love this tree especially the night blue sky..what Rawabi did is great, i think cropping will enhance the qulity of this photo.
Keep clicking my friend and do not worry about comment we are all her to learn ;-)

Dearest Arwa, >>>Welcome Back, my Friend!

pls allow me a few words... heartfelt, my Dear!
i KNOW some people might be sharp with words and a few, sometimes, just are NOT in the mood to Encourage people to to their best... and GROW from the Experience.
This has happened to me once here at UF too, Arwa.
i know two other fellows who withdrawed all their works due to serious critics they got... that's SAD!

Stephen Bowden replied me one Friendly e-mail once, supporting me when i was feeling pretty sad and even crying, due to some harsh words someone else wrote in my Portfolio...
Stephen taught me to HIT "Abuse" when someone placed a poor Comment that made me feel bad and our OWN self Criticism encouraged us to go ahead and publish the photo with a great big smile on our faces, Arwa... so i did it!
i am sad to inform You that i once reported.

You know, even Prof. Socrates, the great Greek philosopher, said "all i know is that i know nothing!", words that immortalized some humbleness of his profile that i find nice to pursue: if Socrates said HE knew nothing, why should we allow people to say they know muuuuuuuuuuuch more than us... and allow them place unpleasant Criticism, instead of placing POSITIVE CRITICISM to help us grow?!?

Nobody is entitled to know EVERYTHING!
... and i believe, even the ones who say they know it all, deep down, they HIDE there are things they do NOT know and fear the outcome.

i strongly believe there are Rules that helps us to get it right...
There are ways to express our feelings, emotions and thoughts... but here or anywhere else, i do NOT agree that People are entitled to point a finger and take the credit off from someone's work of Love!
i work as a journalist and have seen that happen in many places... honest, Arwa?!? i try my BEST not to bother anymore, or REPORT bad words as i recently learned here from Stephen Bowden.

ARWA: You are gifted with a good spirit and great eye, my Friend. Pls post back what YOU liked...
This IS Your PhotoLog afterall!!!

my Best,
Regina Rianelli

A MUCH more focused shot, arwa. ;)
The rich blue gradient is very nice and since you had a tripod, the tree is nice and sharp!

Make sure to use a very low ISO setting, to keep noise to a minimum in these conditions. Use your self-timer, to prevent shaking the camera when you press shutter.

NICE!

Welcome back!!

I like the stark silhouette - such a pity about the powerlines and -pole. Fantastic blue night.

Hi Arwa, have you recovered from your front page sucess :) I hope you got lots of views and comments :)
I missed your fist posting here that you removed so i'm not sure what you are on about. To this image all i can say it congrats on the tripod. i read once that using a tripod is the best and cheapest way to improve you photography, si i try and stick to that. For your info i use a Gitzo with quick release and panorama head, i also have a Gitzo tabletop G00 and then a Monopod for the big lens if i need to pan a lot.
Best wishes from Switzerland
Neil
