Congrats on award - this is a lovely image, mysterious and interesting. As to the lights in the top right corner, I think cloning them out just to see what it looked like would be an idea, I think it would make a big difference to the feel of the image. However, to keep this one as it is, is important too, as it is excellent and I think the lights add something special to it.

guess ur right it would look more moody but for some reason I like them there :)
they remind me that heaven is just a 15 minute walk from home and it wasent a dream ;)

nice image... the only thing I would change (and it is very minor :) ) is that I would crop out the lights... it would make the image more moody and dreamlike.. great work

the long exposure adds a lovely sense of motion to the sea.
excellent composition .. however, personally, I would crop out the light posts on the right.

Dear Arwa,
wow, an SC! well captured and well deserved.
I really like the "milky" look of the water at the shore. especially on the upper right where the lights come into play. would be interesting to see more of the illuminated milky water/fog.
looks like a painting. well done!

Hi Arwa, the velvety appearance of the sea (ocean) due to the long shutterspeed is excellent; also, the composition with the diagonal placement of the shoreline is well chosen. I would crop off the lights in the right hand side of the image, as I don't think they doe quite fit with the Raw/moody atmosphere Chris describes, but other than that, a very well composed and exposed shot. I do agree with Kostas' rework, too. Still an impressive shot; the lighting on the water is perfectly captured.

arwa,i cropped nothing! just selected with lasso the unwanted bottomright corner and then used the healing brush to cover it with parts of the nearby rocks - or it was the cloning tool i used?... i don't remember :-P ;-)

I think it is brilliant. I have seen similar shots where the foreground rocks have been painted in with torch light. I helps to bring out a bit of detail in the foreground. Worth a try.

actually I didn?t have much time to shoot lots of images fist for the obvious reason that the sky color changes every min
second because it was unbelievably humid!!!
The lens was covered with dew and the next thing I knew i couldnt look at the beach!

This is just one of those excellent shots that makes you want to linger and look at it a while. Creates mood. Looks like to shot it at just the right moment to get the shadowy night effect without losing color. Love that hint of green in the water in the distance. Very nicely done!

your picture is technically flawless,arwa,and creates a nice mood. i think the lights in the upper right corner are a strong element of the photo,but there is also a weak element here -at least for me- which i've taken out in my attached alternative ;-)

Great shot, great perspective. Love the softness(focus) of the water against the "hardness" of the rocks. Would like to see with the lights in the upper right cropped out or cloned out.
