This shot is taken right from the road as you go into the badlands at the east gate. You drive through flat country for several miles then start running into the hills. that is where the shot was taken. thanks for commenting

Nice dark composition. I want to photograph the Black Hills sometime in the fall. I will be going to Utah to visit with my brothers not sure if they have much time off for they have the four wheel drive trucks to get to some great places to see and photograph. I like this composition.

Your freind still could have been right. There was a Motorcycle named " Indian " they stopped making them , and then someone tried again to rejuvenate the brand, but I think too many "rice burners" by that time. All of the above is true , however nonrelated. It is an awesome place, I was there last year in Sept, and before that I was there in May Couldn't tell the difference. If you look furthur into my portfolio, you will see two deer in silhoutte, that was taken at sun down on the rim off the canyon.
Sorry about the server , If we didn't have all the spam and junk going on, that would not be a problem.

Intense Jim!
May I share something funny with you? I have a dear USA friend that has travelled your country for decades. I don't think there's a place she hasn't seen. When she heard that I would be going through the Badlands, she told me to find a quiet spot and to just listen to the wind ... and if I concentrated hard enough, I would hear the voices of the Indians. Yeah right ... all I could hear was the roar of the Harleys because Sturgess happened at the same time as my trip!
