What a great picture! Look at all the texture and lines. The church and trees look a bit like they are leaning to the left; a tad wind swept? Nicely done.

Thanks for the reply, Antonella. But my problem was not with the intensity or saturation of the colours as a whole but with the colour balance. The photo seems overbalanced towards the yellows. If you look at the histogram, it is very strongly skewed towards yellow. This sometimes happens in late afternoon sun. It is not wholly unpleasant, as it makes greens look much brighter. My own favourite film, Fuji Superia, is famous for exaggerating the yellows... Just a thought.

I like these lines...green is great!
P.S Amna and Amina have the same meaning (I think it comes from the Arabic word aman which peace and harmony, also means honesty). My father named me after a well known women in our family, who was a great one as every one is say ;-).

The "lines" around the hill and the figuring up of the small village, al though it is of bad weather seems to be very hazy and the sky is not blue but you manage to concentrate on the variation of green colours, another excellent composition, Saeed

Just wondering if you or anyone else thinks the attached is perhaps better with an overall crop, sky change, bump in contrast, and a very simple presentation border.
P.S. I am rating the original a '5' which is a 'for sure good', but if you would have presented it as I have reworked it ... I would have given you a 'Solid 6' which is 'Very Good' ... Yes/No/Okay?
Best of Regards!

Hi Roger, yes, you are correct : this lens is 28 mm equivalent. I guess it's an optycal illusion or the way I framed it, but it looks more like a 24 or even less and even when I look into the viewfinder it feels different from a 28,although it reads indeed 19/35 mm. As I said previously the light was extremely difficult and the only choice was to enhance the saturation. You can see the same photo, taken horizontally in Paolo's portfolio. Cheers! Antonella

San Gimignano as you see it when arriving. Wonderful landscape, specially the lines formed by the grapes! Great greenshades. Is there a better time to travel as the spring? Kind regards Ellen 7

This has a much stronger "wide-angle" feel to it than I would expect from your lens, which is the equivalent of a 28mm lens, right? You've made great use of the tremendous depth of field. And I love the way you have captured the undulations and patterns in the field on the hillside, although I must say the yellows look a little on the strong side to me.

Giuliano,I might agree that the colors are a bit oversaturated, but I had no other choice in such a climatic condition but to push the saturation. But this is not the point. I'm getting tired of your sarcastic and unsolicited comments with low ratings. Not even one appraisal note, you seem to take pleasure in picking up only the photos you don't like....how come??? Do my photos stink? If so,why bother looking at them? Or do you like to bring down the rating?? Although we are both from Florence I never asked for your advice, nor have I commented your portfolio because it so happens that I do not like to entertain conversation with people who are not well-mannered. I'm referring also to the other photo of mine that you commented and rated. You said that photos like that are banal and good for the garbage bin and you have yourself discarded dozens of them of the same subject. As I am not particularly fond of this arrogant behavior and sudden dropping in ratings lately on my photos,I'd be grateful if,from now on, you'll kindly abstain from visiting my portfolio. Antonella
