I think it's great! I happen to be a person who really likes different angles and views. This one I really LIKE a lot! And of course the color is very inviting also!

Diana, you are a very good photographer!

I think your playing around has made a very nice picture. It is more on the abstract side but still very nice. Don.

Groet teunis

Wondeful photo!Ilike very much the sharpness of the foreground v.s. the softness of the background.
Congratulations.

I think it's very nice, Diana, and the frame compliments it very well.
As I've found out myself in the past few days, it's worth doing a bit of playing around!
Kind regards, Chris

Very original capture. Beautiful color and dof. The nerves in the petals are wonderful.

Hi Diana, I like it very much!
Many people would try and get the whole flower in focus or at least focus on the stamen (hope that's correct?). Here you have done the opposite and focused on the rim of the flower. It gives a different weight to the whole photo. The rim and the form of the flower become more important.
We all now what a flower looks like so we don't really need to see that, you have directed our attention to small details of an otherwise well known and well documented flower.
Technically there is a little blooming (excuse the pun :)) on the rim, this is a common digital problem with some cameras. I have the same on my G5, particularly with white backrounds. Here it is not too bad! The way to combat that is to stop down, but then you have a DOF problem and maybe not the effect you wanted. Nice work and my best regards, Neil

Christian Barrette   {K:21125} 5/3/2004
The curve of the foreground petal is very pleasing and its structure, thanks to its transparency, with all the veins visible, is fantastic. This is what I like best. The other curve, on the right, is equally interesting.
As a second point of anchor, I hesitate between the small leaf in the LR corner and the background flower. I would have prefered to have only one.
None the less, the glow in the blue hue is absolutely captivating and makes for a beautiful image.
