Downstream of the 33rd Street Weir on a bright day in early spring. This is my third or fourth attempt at geese on the wing. One of these days I'll get the definitive shot.
Not a bad shot at all, John. I think that the f/16 hurt you a bit. If you had been a bit more open, perhaps f/5.6 or so, you could have blurred out that background. But, I know how that Tamron can be. I'm using a 75-300 and things get real tough at the extreme end of the zoom range. and I know how tough those long shots are...I've got a ton of shots that are not sharp enough, too much background, not enough DOF....overall though, I think this is a pretty good catch of a very difficult subject!
Jon don't feel bad, I'm probably at 20 or 30 attempts. It's a lot harder task then it seems. You have not done bad here at all. Thank you for your comment on my picture. I did goof buy not putting more of a subject in the foreground to help achieve my test. Lee
