My father and I took off across the Irish Republic and into Northern Ireland (our family's "home") a couple years back. It was more or less my first real go at photography. I was still too shy to make many people images, but of the few I made I was quite fond of this one. The frame edges are a bit busy to the halfway point, but the central figure was strong enough for me to forgive that
Thank goodness for the "Randoms". Without them, I would have missed a truly wonderful portrait. Beautifully composed and lit photo. I looked at it and thought, this screams "Ireland" (no I haven't been, but we've all seen the movies... hehehe). Then I read your about... Truly excellent work here Eammon!
Wow, I just looked at your portfolio - so much talent! And so young (I'm envious). I stay stick with the photojournalism, landscapes, people shots and forgo the fashion photography. Beautiful work.
Just the picture itself is lovely, but the way you captured is excellent. The colors are really "Irish", or at least what I would imagine Ireland to be like.
