roger,
you captured the whole cacophony of forms and structures and colours in absolute eprfection! somebody planning this must have totally lost track and ended up in such disturbing and tasteless turmoil. it could have been so beautiful and now...
what a great tool such an old spotmatic can be. i don't have that anymore but a pentax super a i still keep and i love it.

Very impressing handling of the 16mm, nice play of light and shadow and I like this compositiono colours.
Perhaps it woul look still better if the house at rhs was cut off. The (yellow) colours see disturbing to me.

In the original, unmodified fish-eye shot, the verticals of the statue and the corners and windows of the buildings all suffered from severe barrel distortion. I didn't like that look at all, and do not intend to post it. It took quite a lot of work to straighten those out, but of course the curvilinear rendering of the mosaic on the pavement proved too much for me. My next shot of this sculpture may well be taken looking up from under the sculpture. No pavement in that, I'm afraid.

You've had some very perceptive comments on this shot, Roger ~ it would have been interesting to see the original picture so that we could get an idea of how much work you've had to do on it. I tend to agree with those who like the pavement more than the sculpture ~ perhaps you could take another shot concentrating on that?

P.S. What ARE you implying with respect to my deer statue shot, dear Roger? Of course, you were exactly right, but then I see myself more as a photoartist, (if that's not being presumptuous!!), as opposed to a strictly realist photographer. I do load up totally real and unmodified shots, of course, but I'm not worried about changing one or two things if I can produce something that, to me at least, is more pleasing to the eye.

Well, to tell you the truth (don't I always?), it's the floor which is the most interesting element here for me. The structure is lost in the backgroud.

Some halo around the structure... however interesting modern sculpture with human element for understand proportions .. I think the light wasn't easy to take this photo... but you did it quite well.
