About The interplay of light and shadow on the interior walls of the Big Sable Lighthouse just north of LUdington, Michigan caught my eye after a climb of the tower. Comments would be appreciated.

I really like the way the light streaks through the begining of the stair case.

Very nice. The title should indeed be nautilus...:-) I think you can take this picture even further conceptually in the "nautilus direction" if I may say... Maybe experimenting with various ways to print... High-key is tempting, maybe a mild blue toning combined with high key... Just suggestions of course... The first moment I saw this shot, I saw a nautilus, and I missed the sea... Maybe this means that you could take us a bit closer to the sea with your image...

Nautilustair! That's it, it is a nautilustair.

Very strong, tonally and emotionally. I must say it has some fear inspiring qualities as well. Very good photograph, well done.

Wow! VERY cool! That shadow is especially marvelous. You have two images here; as is and as an abstract of just the upper right quadrant. Is this all natural light? What time of the day? Despite Grosse Point being a "Poe design" like Big Sable, it doesn't seem to get *this* much light in it. Gorgeous!

Susan, I think Gary was shooting up towards the top. See how close the handrail is to the stairs?

This is totally groovy. It reminds me of an ammonite shell...another example of how forms in nature are replicated by architecture. Wonderful choice of B&W.

This is a beautiful bw image. It's so richly textured. I love the contrasts and you've captured the shadows superbly. Just lovely! You've got a fabulous eye.

What a great composition and use of lights... this is a surreal picture. Absolutely love it.

Wonderful shot..I took a similar shot at a lighthouse, except I was looking up the stairwell, not down.
Great shadows!

I knew from the m oment I saw this you had gone inside one of your beautiful light house - this is a terrific view - I guess in a lasrger version, the detail in the stairs is even more prominent - great shot - gives me vertigo

Very well seen and an excellent use of BW.

Initially I thought that the image was heavy on the botton due to the black mass of the stairs, but I think the extra white space on top, balances it.
