ahhh lucy...tiny little woman ....who's cancer ravaged her right before my eyes. and her partner bob, who she cooked for, for many years. well he cooked for her now..and brought her plates of hot steaming food..while she smiled weakly..brave but scared. altough if you didn;t know her, you would never see her fear.
so they said the cancer left her. she went on vacation. was happy to be over with the chemo. it was hard on her 76 year old body mind and spirit.
but it came back
and now she is gone.
this photo was for little lucy..a woman who always tried to put a smile on your face. a woman who worked hard her entire life.
i'll miss your little southern voic lucy..and complimenting your new hair-do's..
and touching your little hand everytime i saw you. take good care.
thanks everyone...
and thank you mary..it seems you read into the photo what it really said.

the expression but even more powerfully the doorway that seems about to fade away speaks to loss...

this and a comment you left Max recalled this:
Widower
A nurse dropped the bedpan with a clash--Stanley?s eyes open, a fractional memory registers reality, crushes the receipt and he wanders between synapses again holding hands with Mary. A candy-striper wipes his lips and silently squeezes his fingers.

Unavoidable conclusion for a sad story, I hope only it?s not real, the image describes perfectly your mood, I like your pose and above all that lightning in your eyes; you know, I love your eye, but sometimes I think that you have a killer look! ;) Sandy, hope a perfect 2004 for you!!! Kisses, Max
