This little fellow looks familiar (or maybe a relative?) and I believe that is pineapple sage for lunch!

I have been chasing them around for years to get a good shot of them in the wilds and not at a bird feeder on day I will get that one. This is a nice capture I like it for they are diffucult to photograph.

Andrej: These are difficult birds to photograph. I would love to see another attempt at scanning this image. It's a very nice image.

Hi Andrej I commented on this picture a few days ago but the comments and ratings have vanished. I'll try again.
This is a really great capture pity about the scan could be worth getting it done on a really good scanner. What is that grey background colour? It makes the image a bit dark. A lot of PS work after a high definition scan could transform it.
I've placed my answer to your questions on, "Rapefield" in the Rapefield image comments. I always do this to keep the threads intact. Also I pass my thanks the same way so if you get a message with me writting to myself look to see what the message says.
Regards,
Graham.

Hello Kristina;

Unfortunately I lost a negative from this film (The same for Svetina and 'From Frisco to Seattle')
So scan is my only option for this prints. But this colibri is a bit shaked even on original image... No tipod around and a lot of hurry.

?ivjo Andrej..:)

Excellent shot, incredible moment and great view....how great feeling must be looking this magic of nature live.
congratulation,
best regards, Orchid

A pity it's so blurry... Can't you take it to that local shop that you said scanned your portraits? This beautiful capture deifintely needs better scanning to get what it deserves. It's really such a fantastic capture, and I love it, but... if only it was sharper.

Well, it was just walking :)
We where in Belgium for new year and this was a walk in the first snow. It's more that i wanted to put the pictures together (all the walking pictures) so I made a serie; the walk.
I've never been to America, but I heard that colobri's are very hard to catch on film. So this is very well done job!
Greets Tim.

I have not had success in photographing this type of bird. In this case it looks as if the whole image is just slightly out of focus or that it was hand held at a shutter speed to slow to off set shaking hands. Therfore it might not be the fault of the scanner. You could try this. Make a commercial print from the negative and a print from the scanned negative and from this it should be easy to deduce where the problem lies.

Hojla, Andrej!

Excellent shot and presentation, it's a pitty for your scanner, anyway it is a great photo with wonderful red colour effect, congrats, best regards!
