Powerful photo, Sandy, especially in the context of your loss - the blur and/or camera shake work well here to convey that slightly out-of-phase detachment from reality that strong emotions bring on (at least in me!) You write beatifully, too!

Sandy,
such an inspiration, the way you put it all out on the line. I'd love to hear your music.
Hope all is well with you.

sagittareus - November 30

btw you are right - life-summing statements are a waste of time when they come from our perspective...

An extremely well-done and appealing portrait..:) Such a somber but optimistic mood is presented in your eyes, expression and pose. The lighting looks good and the lightness-to-darkness ratio seems perfect.

On my intial viewing of this shot--and almost initially every time I look back at it--I find myself visually mistaking your cowlneck (I think that's what it's called) for a hand--i.e., I keep thinking you're resting your chin on one of your hands. It doesn't detract from the shot at all, it's just sort of a weird optical illusion; if anything, it adds a certain element of intrigue..:)

Not sure how eloquent this is, but I composed something in regard to your loss of a friend...

With every loss is a potential for gain; one's soul stretches to understand and accommodate the pain; the soul enrichens and deepens and one's life becomes even more precious and well-lived; all those in your life will be touched.

the tone of this image is luminescent which is perfect for the subject...the title is touching and telling - an excellent tribute...

to each his own
life summing statements
so easily spewed forth
from froth covered lips
stretched with rage.
i see not the point of your rage my friend,
is it not short enough?
this thing that we call life?
