Hi Julia, I like your portaits, but from your portfolio, I like this one the best. You handled the lighting and DOF very well and I especially like how you composed the model. Great work! Dan

Hey Thanks , Everyone!
Rob - It was just the regular Kodak B&w select - I think I got it at the drugstore.....definitely not one of the fancier films.... : )

Yeah, I really like this. You seem to have a good feel for natural light -- that's the key, I think. The only thing I would try to improve on this one is the catch light...as was already mentioned, I think. I'm also a sucker for shallw DOF. Hey, which 400 film is this?

This is excellent, great seperation, blurr, expression, angle of the head, catchlight in the eyes - if i had a little terrence version of the editor's choice thing this would definitely be in the runnings

Thanks for the comments! I'll have to experiment with that crop. I only wish I could use it for a NYIP project - it seems like my shots never fit the assignment and when they do, I think they look weird..... I did really like the previous post I did of her - which I thought I could use for the 'one light plus reflector head shot' but I don't know....
Thanks again!

Man what a difference a trained eye has. I would never have picked out those areas to look more closely at...the eye for example. It is true now that I see it. Still a great shot though.

Hi Julia, Nice shot. This would have been great if you had some catch light on her right eye too... (I dont know, how you could get catch light on the shadowed part of the body... maybe with a reflector... Well, I dont know.)
Is this for any NYIP project?

Nice shot. I like the shallow DoF.. good tonality. I'd have cropped it just a smidge higher on the bottom of the frame.. but this is just fine. Good job! :)
