Well done Pete about your work on mask! I try to find something bad at the outline of the colour objects and nothing!!! You did great job. Also clever photo because the objects you have are colourfull and looks very nice in the B&W ground - background.

Excellent idea to keep the chairs in colours and desaturate the background! It looks wonderful, and it's very well composed too!

Wow, this is a fantastic shot Pete! I think your idea has worked perfectly, and it's such a effect. I've seen similar shots with coloured flowers and desaturated backgrounds, and this one works every bit as well as others I've seen. Excellent work, well done! Regards, Stephen

I use MGI PhotoSuite since it's a lot easier to learn and use than PhotoShop. I used a brush tool to change the tinting and selected a color to "paint" with the brush. By selecting black as the color and 50% opacity (so it wouldn't totally black out what I painted), I then brushed over the background to change all of the colors to the tint I selected. There are other ways to de-colorize part of a photo, but this was the quickest and easiest for me.

Pete, Great photo, love the PS work. Vivid colors, expecially against the sharp black and white. Very nice.

I wanted to highlight the bright colors of the beach chairs, so I painted out the rest of the scene in B&W.

excellent composition and captivating scene.
Why are the two chairs so colorful( a plus) but the
ocean and sky are in monochrome?
