The alternative process is just about the portraitee not being the actual centre of attention... mearly a part, but not insignificant as if placed at greater distance from the lens. This is why her face is partially shrouded in shadow to alter the perspective

Good picture. My first reaction was, "I wish I could see the woman's face clearer (or lighter)." But maybe it's good the way it is, as a whole picture. I love the transparent water and the almost purple sky. Very nice!
