I say it when I can see all the details,but I think that you are right it is more for taking pictures of tiny subjects!!But for me your picture is so great ..a wonderful macro:)))!

Hello Ray - thank you so much... glad you like it! Isn't nature wonderful? I have discovered so much more since I started taking pictures. A whole new world has opened for me...especially when you can zoom in on those fine detail later is mind boggling for me. I so happy!!! Did you see the nose opening? It closes up when the bird is high up in the air...
It is very hot summer weather in Pretoria. We have a lot of rain. Even the night temperature is around 19 degrees C. I visited London 2 years ago - April - it was freezing cold!

Hi Nicole - Thank you so much! I used my favorite lens (70-200f4L IS USM). May I ask when do one consider a photo as a macro. Is it when you can see all the detail? I thought it is for taking p close-up pictures of very tiny subjects very ?

My friend Harry - Thanx! I shot the photo on f10 , almost middle of the day. I wasn't happy about the shade on the neck - but the photo is straif=ght from the camera except for a little bit of cropping.. Hope your day was great!

Stunning image, It looks like the Kestrel here in the US.Here's a Kestrel I shot of couple of years ago.
