About	For a multitude of reasons, the highest level of organized baseball I reached was wearing the "tools of ignorance"(for my British friends that means I was the catcher[squatting down--catching the baseball thrown from the pitcher])for the Red Devils high school team. I wore number 1. I was not the team leader although I did hit .345 and drove in a few runs. Baseball figured prominently during my formative years. Springsteen's "Glory Days" could be my anthem. I took off for Gary at the age of 42 to reclaim my childhood. (Photo circa. 1975. Cavaliers were from LP--LaSalle/Peru. I threw out my first runner at second base against DePue, Illinois Little Giants. I caught one game without a cup. I had my own mask sans helmet which was thrown out one game against Ottawa/Marquette and had to use a borrowed helmet/mask from the other team.

Well then!!! I need to get you to become a baseball fan! My favorite team is the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs were the world champion baseball team in 1908... and they have not won a championship in 100 years. They are also known as, "The Lovable Losers." If you are a Cub fan then you understand losing and being beaten... but still haveing hope for the future! The battle cry for the Chicago Cubs is: "Wait till next year!!!" Being a Cub fan is a good thing... it makes you see life in balance. (I think Roger from Australia is a Cub fan...he wears a Cub hat when his NSW cricket team is playing)

the only thing that I love about baseball is a movie( Field of Dreams)and I have seen it four times,I hate football as I never hate any thing in my life,I was in the team of my college for volleyball, but never took the trophy.
