About This is a very broken down hay swather in Nevada City, Mt. It was missing some integral parts but that happens with age. This was a horse drawn implement for cutting hay. It was mechanically driven by chains from being pulled by the horses. The chains were driven off of the wheel shaft and gears assembled to them.

Keith, the door is always open. I will continue to tease you with some of this great old stuff. There is so much of this still around Montana. There is always some lawn or yard art in almost any town. Sometimes on some old ranches there are 4 or 5 generations of equipment lined up in a field od behind the barn.
Be well,Stan

Thanks Arif, this is the kind of history I like. Do not have to memorize dates! The design of this early equipment is so interesting. Thanks for your comments and support.

Stan, the old machinery is disappearing so quickly that it is fun to catch glimpses of the past through what is still left. It is such wonderful mechanical design with what they had to work with at the time. Some incredible minds and hands of creation.
Be well, Stan
