Hi Dave,
From what I hear about the temperatures up there, this beautiful sculpture will be standing for quite some time. :)

You caught the details, reflections on refractions of light on the surface of ice pretty well here, Dave! And ice can really be very hard for a reasonable well balanced exposure.

What about leaving that base put and using a shallower DoF? I had that idea right away when I saw the image, and I tried to somehow alter your image through partial softening, which wasn't of course as good as a selective focus would be. But just for the record, I attach it here.

Best wishes,

Nick

Excellent shot Dave. I like the stone base in the shot as it makes it even more remarkable that it as actually Ice and outside. Love the background too.:)

This is a neat image! Your always at the right places at the right time. The only thing I'd do different if you don't mind me saying, is that I would crop some of that stone platform out of this beautiful image.

Real nice capture Dave, I like the way you see the tree behind it through the ice. It looks like it was a nice sunny day and the picture is super sharp. Crop is excellent, amazing how the Fuji just keeps chugging along. Best regards.

wow... very nice, pity that these amazing statues cannot hold for a lot, you take the shot focusing well on something like crystal and always crystalic things are VERY difficult to take a shot with a really good focus on these, good job Dave.

Great shot Dave.

Really like how the light is at play on the left-hand edge and helping to show the background colours through the sculpture.

All the best,
Ed
