About While hiking around in the Torres del Paine we came across Gaunaco's fairly often. They were not to concerned with the presents of humans and allowed us time to take a few shots before moving on to better places to eat.

I am also writing a blog on the trip for www.acdsee.com the photo software company if you are interested in checking it out. It is still in process I am adding more everyday.

HAHA, well I am a colorist, being a artist-painter as a profession. And yes I do up the color in most cases trying to achieve a level of emotional excitement with color without being garish. I know I am walking a fine line that may be to much for many photographers but this is one of the things that distinguishes one from the other. How does a photographer interpret the image they have captured? I opt for a artistic version. To attempt to bring forth the feeling of that moment in time. Hopefully breaking the shell of our desensitized ocular nerves to reach the viewers emotional side, as well as maintaining the technical aspects of a good image. we are competing with a world of images assaulting us from every angle, so it is hard to reach your audience, so boldness is often needed. Just perusing the thumbnails your eye has a tendency to go to certain images and glide over others. What is it about these few that grab our attention? This is what I am studying, the natural tendencies of the eye of the average human. We all do this by checking how many comments and how many views. All to access our success in this department.
Now take your laptop to a computer with a monitor and go to the same internet image on Usefilm. See the differences. Some times they are so huge to the point of wanting to pull it off website.....lol....

What a fabulous and unusual (for me, at least) scene!

And to continue the saturation debate, I do generally find the colours of your photos very intense, although in most cases this does seem to work very well with your landscapes. It's not so much the case here, but those colours are still wonderfully vibrant for what looks to have been a rather grey day. Then again, I'm looking at this on a laptop, and by moving the screen just a few degrees I can totally change the way it looks...

Stunning landscape, Tim. In my humble opinion, I find the Guanaco and the land a little bit over saturated. Very good idea to present the shot framed in different thickness frames.

Actually I got so close he lowered his ears at me and spit....good thing he missed, because i guess the spit really stinks. I got the hint and left him alone.
