Avi -- Thanks so much for commenting. Sometimes Roland has green eyes and sometimes yellow eyes, depending on the light. I suspect they glow in the dark but I cannot prove it. :)

Nicole -- Thanks so much for your wonderful words about Roland. He is very busy at the moment answering the door while we hand out candy to the local children (it is 6 PM Halloween night here).
half the time he wanders out to greet the children and then comes back on the porch waiting for the next child to approach. He is always an indoor cat and will not stray far from the front door. I am thinking he will sleep well tonight.

AJ -- Thanks for checking out Roland and for your comments. I went over and looked at Colette and have to say: she is a real beauty. Roland is no longer interested in the opposite sex but I am sure if he could talk and whistle he would have nice things to say about her.
As for his shiny nose, his fur is thin in places and bright light shows through to the skin underneath the thinning fur. He has been around me too much and I must have set a bad example and inspired him to near-baldness.
As for having a cat, just look in your local telephone business directory for "RENTAL CATS".

That's funny - Roland has popped up on my friends page right next to Andree's photos of Colette. Maybe they should get together!
Nice title and shot. Great focus on the eyes (or the left eye to be precise, I think), but his nose looks a little shiny!
It would be wonderful to have a cat around to photograph, but he'd get pretty miffed with my constant comings and goings.

Thanks Liz. Roland loves to bask in the sun. Lately more so as he gets a bit older. I think he has been slacking off in his seasonal responsibilities the last few years but he still puts in a showing for the trick-or-treaters that show up for candy on Halloween night.
