The Ring of Brodgar on Orkney. This ancient stone ring once consisted on 60 stones each 6 degrees apart which must have been an amazing sight!
It took ages to capture this image as bumbling tourists kept wandering into the scene and standing around for ages. Eventually one of them noticed me patiently standing there next to my Mamiya on its tripod and realised that I was taking more than a snap shot and everyone was organised out of the way for a few seconds - I had to act quickly as another group of tourists were edging in from the right of this frame! The joys of photography.
I used a 2 stop soft ND grad to maintain sky detail and because the light was so poor I converted the Velvia colour transparency to B&W in PS.
And when they got off the way it must have been quite relieving after some waiting. Nice people you have there. This photo is interesting and absolutely superb. Good conversion in B&W. The tones are relly great. Love it!!!! Regards - Emgy
