There is no protocol on USEFILM for commenting or replying. Many of the members (like myself) will only make comments when we either like something or want to compliment something exceptional and in other cases when we spot something that could legitiamtely warrant an improvement. In other cases we might offer an opinion stimulated by the subject of the photo. In other words we avoid too many negative replies/comments.
As for your responding, it is certainly not required but you will find many (like me) will thank a commentator for viewing and taking the time to comment. I personally like any comments someone cares to make just so I know someone is out there and thought the photo is comment-worthy.
It is all up to you.
Another common practice is to checkout the photos of someone that took the time to make mention of your pictures. Not required, not expected but it is a courtesy that can be offered.
Overall I have learned a lot from comments of other members and have reposted photos with re-work when I agree that the critique warrants a re-do and I have the time to try the change.

Thanks Jan ! My fiest post to this site and I'm learning things are a little different than previous place I posted pictures such as the reply to comments doesn't actually mate right up to the comment your replying to so looks like replies could get repetitive trying to say the same things to people who comment on your photos. Thanks again for your comment !

Thank you Michael ! I do what I can with very limited equipment and try to be creative with what I do capture. The photo also was clipped a little in the auto resize. I am use to another online photo forum and had this photo prepared for it but it went offline recently. Thanks again for your comments !
