Gee, Dave, you got really close in on this little guy. Great close-up. Down here, we call these guys Prairie Dogs and people constantly shoot them. I probably have 10,000 of them in the back 40 here but none of them will let you get within 1000 feet of them. Probably because they are always getting shot at.

I remember these guys from visits out west. We don't have them in Ontario, at least not Southern Ontario.
I think these are a bit smaller than our Ground Hogs.
