Thanks Hanggan! The window had plastic over it - for insulation during the winter - and this diffused the sunlight nicely.
Best regards,
kes

Oh, wow, Linda, what a great interpretation! I can see that here, now that you mention it. :)

You know, it seems like there is never enough time in life to do everything you want to do...

All the best Linda,
Kes

Hi Kes,

Something very similar happened with one of my favourite images. I was taking a shot of the inside of an old International Harvester truck, trying to get the broken window just right. When I took the shot, I had no idea of the spooky little apparition that I had captured on the other side of the window pane. Check out the similarity here.

Great play with light and shadow Kes...wonderful mood too, but for me this has a bit of a sad feel to it, almost like it's a treasure but it's left behind or there just isn't time now...maybe that's just the way my life is right now..LOL..great work as always Kes, nice composition too...well done...:) Linda

Hi Andre, that shadow is either the tip of a 50' fir tree out in the yard...or a cat in the windowsill. I think the chair was positioned to give the shadows on the guitar.

Where is Elvis? :)

Kes,
So that isn't the neighbor's shadow coming to complain about the noise then?

Interesting composition. I would bet 90% of photographers would tend to pose the chair facing the guitar instead of the windows. But, just because most people might do it that way, it doesn't mean it's the best way :)

A fabulous atmospheric study in excellent mono tones Kes. You put such great thought into the composure of your shots with extra thoughtfulness in light placement. Well done to you my friend for this seriously good moody shot. My very best wishes to you as always......Ray

Hi Renato - Thanks!

I am not a musician! Either!! So you can imagine how bad it is. I have about 4 or 5 guitars around the house...and STILL play poorly. LOL, some are destined to play beautiful music, some are destined to be annoying!

I like your neighbor story - that's what I was shooting for.

All the best,
Kes

Hello Kes!

I am not a musician! Tried to sing in a quire and tried to play electric bass. Tried. Finished!

But ...neighbors...knocking... remembered my times on university. There was a guy that is a guitar player and his girlfriend a drummer. Sometimes, after a few hours of hard-working on the lab., we (not just three) used to go to their house to have something to eat, and listen to them. Knock from (the) neighbor was a very known tone.

Ah, wrong site! We should talk about visual tones, colors, light, grain... LOL

The tones on this shot are fabulous, and I like very much the lighting. You did a very good job with the available light. Well done!

Wishing you all the best,
Renatp

Excellent image and use of available light! Great play with shapes and light!
PS.
That link you have on your profile cracked me up! If Bresson was posting images on UF, he'd probably have a hard time...
