About	Stromness is an attactive town on the coast of the island of Orkney Mainland. The town is stone built with stone roads which provide nice leading lines for images such as this. I waited until dusk to lend the image an other worldy feel. By not using a colour correction filter, the Velvia film has taken on a blue tinge and the sodium light has created a green cast which both add to the unusual look. I had my wife and daughter walk into the 15 second exposure and sit on the wall to create two ghostly figures which are just visible.

This is a lovely shot, Barry, so assured. The colours and composition are excellent, and I like the hint of the people on the wall.

But I actually arrived here by looking to see who first commented on my first upload, two years ago. Thanks for the early encouragement - there are not so many familiar faces around from those days. I've learnt such a lot from fellow UFers, and I hope I've improved my photographic skills just a little during this time...
