About I'm having fun with my fisheye. The central shot here is of a little roundhouse used by a local market gardner to show and sell plants. The lens wasn't ideal to capture the house itself, but I'd left my kit zoom at home. On the other hand it was nice for opening up the very constricted pace inside. Somehow, the distinctive fisheye curvature is not so troubling here, or maybe I am just getting used to it. I did remove some of the fisheye curvature for the central shot...

It is a great combination as the two outside ones seem to be 'hugging' the central one. It's a creative and effective combination. It's great to see the fun you are having with your lens. I love this with all the vibrant colours. I think the combination of fisheye and 'de fisheyed' attract attention (a good thing) to this panorama. If I were to make a suggestion, I like to see the middle photo cropped a little on the right. Somehow, that brownish building draws my eye there away from the wonderful plant shop. I think cropping it just to the left side of the right angle of it would prevent the distraaction.

Glad you like it, Jessie. I'm very fond of my fisheye and of course it's great for panoramas. I've been flooded with work and have quite a backlog of photos to upload. Haven't been doing much commenting, either. Sorry...

I share your weakness for this lens. It certainly opens up interior shots. The yellowish cast is probably the effect of all the yellow-brown wood. I played with different WB/colour settings and this was my preference. When I am just doing a quick "de-fish" for the web, the built-in PaintShopPro function is OK, although it definitely softens the image near the edges. If I want a really accurate job with no degradation, I use the plugins based on Herman Dersch's PanoTools utilities. These do a superb job and are precisely adjustable for pitch, yaw and roll as well as the removal of fisheye curvature. It can even remove any traces of vignetting, although as you will know this lens is remarkably free of it.

Hi Roger,

Nice arrangement of the roundhouse flanked by the views of it's interior. I like the use of the 10.5 here, but I have a personal weakness for that lens. The distorted look creates a rather roomy feel, and adds to the dynamism of the photo. Nice one.

With the two interior shots, I also notice the yellowish cast over the photo I see when using that lens indoors. Not anything distracting, though.

I presume you corrected the lens distortion with the middle photo. Good results there, too! What program did you use? Nikon capture? or photoshop? Just curious, I'm still optimising my workflow in that respect...

Cheers,

Hugo

"Somehow, the distinctive fisheye curvature is not so troubling here". I imagine this could be because of the circular shape of the subject, making it less obvious?
